Sonrise Christian Day School

Mission Statement

At Sonrise Christian Day School, we recognize that parents have entrusted their children to the loving and faithful care of God. We are honored to partner with families in nurturing each child during these important early years of life.

With humility and compassion, we are committed to supporting parents in raising children who know they are loved by God and who learn to follow the example of Jesus Christ. Through our words, actions, and daily interactions, we strive to encourage every family as they provide a safe, loving, and faith-filled home. We pray for our children and their families and seek to make this shared journey one of joy, growth, and purpose.

Our mission is to provide a Christ-centered learning environment where children experience God’s love through prayer, worship, learning, and play. In partnership with parents and guardians, we foster the spiritual, emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development of every child. Through high-quality early childhood education, biblical values, and meaningful relationships, we prepare children for success in school while helping them develop kindness, confidence, integrity, and a lifelong love for God and others.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” ‑Proverbs 22:6

Vision

Our vision is to be a premier Christian early childhood education program where every child is known, loved, and inspired to reach their God-given potential.

We envision a school where children develop a strong foundation of faith, a love for learning, and the confidence to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Through meaningful relationships, engaging learning experiences, and Christ-centered teaching, we prepare children to become compassionate leaders, lifelong learners, and faithful followers of Christ.

Together with families, Linwood Heights United Methodist Church, and our community, we strive to build a place where children flourish, families are supported, and God’s love is reflected in everything we do.

Our Core Values

☑ Christ-Centered

Jesus Christ is the foundation of everything we do. We teach biblical truths, model Christian character, and encourage children to grow in faith through daily prayer, worship, Bible stories, and acts of kindness.

☑ Love

Every child is uniquely created in God’s image and deserves to be loved, respected, encouraged, and celebrated. We create an environment where children feel safe, accepted, and valued.

☑ Partnership

Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. We build strong, trusting relationships with families through open communication, mutual respect, and shared commitment to each child’s success.

☑ Excellence

We are committed to providing high-quality early childhood education through developmentally appropriate practices, engaging curriculum, continuous improvement, and exceptional care.

☑ Growth

We believe every child has unique gifts and abilities. We nurture spiritual, academic, emotional, social, and physical growth while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

☑ Integrity

We strive to honor God through honesty, accountability, professionalism, and ethical decision-making in all aspects of our ministry and school community.

☑ Service

Following Christ’s example, we encourage children and families to care for others through generosity, compassion, gratitude, and service within our school, church, and community.

☑ Joy

Learning should be filled with wonder, laughter, discovery, and celebration. We create joyful experiences that inspire children to love learning and delight in God’s creation.
